YES Azerbaijan 2008
The fifth Global Youth Employment Summit will take place in Baku Azerbaijan September 24th to 28th 2008. The event will bring together 600 delegates including Government, Civil Society, Youth Leaders and World Leaders to focus on the youth employment trends around the world. National Youth Peace Campaign
YES Kenya has brought together other youth serving and youth led organizations to take part in restoration of peace, truth and justice after the disputed Presidential Election that has left more than 1000 people dead and more than 350,000 internally displaced. This campaign brings together more than 50 organizations to facilitate the youth to take a leadership role in recreating Kenya. National Youth Convention IV
The National Youth Convention is a prestigious gathering for Kenyan Youth Leaders to focus their attention in shaping the agenda of the Youth in Kenya. Since 1994 the NYC has emerged as one of the most authoritative platform for the Young People in Kenya to voice their concerns and put actions that focus on recreating the republic. International ICT Summit
YES Kenya is partnering with International Computer Development Association of Canada to organize the International ICT Summit. The information on participation will be available shortly.

International and Local Exchange Programmes
YES Kenya has introduced the local and International Exchange Programmes. The Programme recruits volunteers and places them in community based organizations that are focused on creating sustainable livelihoods. The Exchange programme promotes the culture of learning and sharing of information and creation of communities of practice (COPS). You can participate as a volunteer on periods between 1 week to 1 year in a community Project in Kenya. Do you want to volunteer and make a difference? Do you want to leave a mark in someone’s life? Do you want to contribute to alleviating Poverty in Africa? Are you interested in cultural exchange programmes? Can you live with a local family and work in communities? Business Incubation
Business incubation is a model of practice that is created for emerging businesses. Young Entrepreneurs are placed in a business incubator for some time where they undergo specialized enterprise development capacity building training until their businesses have matured and able to withstand the realities of the markets. YES Kenya is working closely with Kenya Kountry Business Incubator to build the capacity of Budding entrepreneurs to go through business incubation services and make their business grow. Interactive Radio Instructions
Interactive Radio Instruction is a methodology that uses radio to provide a multi-channel learning experience for learners and teachers. Multi-channel learning refers to the theory that all learners have their own learning styles; some learn singing songs, others may visualize while other through physical activity. IRI is an active teaching methodology that engages learners through games, songs, role plays, interactive drama, questions and answers or physical activity through use of radio in an appropriate role, use of sound pedagogical principles and use of a format that is suited to the audience and subject. YES Kenya is thus starting up training progrmmes on entrepreneurship through IRI model. Contact us for more details and showcasing on how IRI works.

Youth to Youth Trade
YES Kenya is in the process of formulating a trade model that will target markets among peers in the prospective enterprises that young people are practicing. This means getting buyers on board to commit to purchasing goods and services from the new enterprises especially at peer level. An online tool is underway on this venture.
